🌠 BGNR-ENG-09 – Session 5 Recap
Session 5 of 17
📅 Date: 29 June 2025
🧭 Theme: Understanding Planets, Karma, and Spiritual Experiences
This session was a sweeping walkthrough of all the nine planets — their roles, symbolism, physical associations, and how they shape our lives both astrologically and spiritually. Guruji shared rich insights, real examples, and personal experiences that helped us connect deeply with the subject.
🔍 What We Covered:
Guruji began by explaining that planetary positions are the same across the Earth, regardless of geography — reinforcing astrology’s universality. He introduced the importance of understanding retrograde motion, combustion, and planetary speeds, reminding us that while software does the math, true comprehension comes from observing patterns.
We then explored each planet in detail:
Sun – Soul, vitality, ego, leadership, and superego. It’s linked with the heart, eyes, bones, and colors like red and gold. An afflicted Sun may result in struggles with father figures or authority.
Moon – Emotion, fluidity, water, sleep, motherhood, and mental health. We also learned about Uttarayana and Dakshinayana, and how the moon reflects the ever-changing mind.
Mars – Action, courage, violence, sports, the military, and engineering. Mars is the planet of Shana (a 48-minute predictive unit), and when strong, red coral and worship of Lord Subramanya were suggested.
Mercury – Calculation, speech, intellect, debate, and skin. It governs the nervous system and regulates body temperature. Its retrograde motion occurs three times a year.
Jupiter – Wisdom, children, expansion, learning, and spiritual blessings. It rules law, religion, and auspicious timing. Afflictions may indicate liver issues.
Venus – Beauty, luxury, female energy, and pleasures. It governs the bedroom, comfort, and careers like acting and fashion. Venus's planetary strength is linked to arts and the senses.
Saturn – Patience, bones, responsibility, old age, suffering, and karma. The slowest-moving planet, Saturn teaches lessons over time and is tied to debts and discipline.
Rahu – Illusion, desire, addiction, and fear. It rules over confusion, snake dreams, obsessions, and fame. Guruji advised watching for dreams or signs involving snakes or poisons.
Ketu – Moksha, detachment, surrender, and spiritual freedom. It represents renunciation and deep spiritual experiences. Remedies include Ganesha pendants and mantra recitation during Ketu Mahadasha.
We explored the Samudra Manthan myth to understand Rahu and Ketu’s origin and their symbolic contrast — Rahu drawing us into the world, Ketu pulling us out.
🧘 Experiences & Reflections:
The class shifted from the academic to the personal when Guruji shared his own spiritual journey — including a miraculous story about receiving a Shirdi Sai Baba idol for ₹40 from a mysterious man, which led to other devotees sharing similar dreams and messages from Sai Baba.
Students also shared their own spiritual experiences — from divine dreams. Guruji reminded everyone that spiritual moments are highly individual — and real astrology grows not from superstition, but from sincere experience and understanding.
He also spoke about his academic journey in botany and medical microbiology, and how this scientific background shaped his grounded approach to astrology.
