Sade Sati - The 7.5 years Saturn Challenge!

Remember during school days we always had the annual examination that determines if you are good student or not. Sade-Sati also known as 7.5 years Saturn phase is actually an exam time in the school called Karma. In this article we are going to discuss the misconceptions of Sade-Sati and also the best remedies to pass the exam. If you accept the analogy try to answer my next question. Is exams good for the student or is it bad? Answering this question is not easy. In the same way one cannot say Sade-Sati is always bad. Sometimes it is good. For example India's Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi became Prime Minister during his Sade Sati.
In short, Sade Sati is not a curse, but a 7.5-year "karmic examination" conducted by Saturn the Judge in the karma court, to balance accounts, dismantle super ego and pride, and test endurance through a "slow down" effect, including financial stress, isolation, and physical ailments.
What is the exam about?
The Testing of Ambition:
During Sade Sati ( 7.5 years Saturn) expect a reality check if your goals lack an ethical foundation. Sade Sati is notoriously harsh on individuals who are greedy, trying to stay on the top through shortcuts and illegal means. The punishment always comes during a Saturn dominated time. For example the punishment happens on a Saturday which happens to be an 8th of the month. The demonetisation in Indian (500 rupees) was announced on 8th at 8 pm by the Shri Narendra Modi who was born in Anuradha Nakshatra that is owned by Saturn and his date of birth is 17 which adds to 8. Is this proof enough ?
Karmic People in your life :
During Sade Sati people will be tested by those who are Saturn-dominated. They may enter your life to only to deliver tough lessons or serve as catalysts for your existing challenges. Recite the Shani Mantra to reduce the problem, "ॐ प्रां प्रीं प्रौं सः शनैश्चराय नमः" which is oṃ prāṃ prīṃ prauṃ saḥ śanaiścarāya namaḥ. Do you notice the PR sound in the Mantra. In the same way the scientists create vaccines out of the virus itself, the mantras are created out of the problem. Pride (proud) is something that Saturn does not like. Observe the word Pride.

How to prepare well for this exam?
- During this exam time, we feel there is no light in the room. It is dark. So seek light. Seek the light of Vedic Astrology - Jyothisa means light. Seek a Guru. Light a lamp every day at Sunset.
- Saturn during this exam time, slows us down, so speed up your donations, speed up the good that you do to people around you. Be quick to help others in need. Actively assist those who are physically or socially slowed down, such as elder communities, orphans, or people with physical challenges.
What really is Sade-Sati or the 7.5 years Saturn phase?
Saturn moves from one Rasi mandal (zodiac sign) to the next Rasi (zodiac sign). The approximate time it takes is about 2.5 years. You multiply 2.5 x 12 =30 years which is the approximately the time taken by Transit Saturn to complete the 360 degrees of sky.
The reference point of calculating Sade-Sati is always your Moon Sign. This is the rough method. The exact method is to know the exact degree of Moon in any horoscope and calculate Sade-Sati. However this exact method as you expect is not popular as the layperson has no knowledge about this. So entire Moon sign is considered when it comes to Sade-Sati. This is the normal practice. In another article I will teach you about the exact method of calculating the start and end of Sade Sati phase.
When Transit Saturn enters the sign that is previous to your Moon Sign please know that it is Exam time. Saturn moves up in that sign for 2.5 years and then Saturn moves into your Moon sign. This is the middle part of Sade-Sati. This happens for 2.5 years approximately. Then Saturn moves into the 2nd zodiac sign from your Moon sign. This is the last part of the Sade-Sati. Exams are going to be over in 2.5 years. So 2.5x3=7.5 because 3 signs are involved.
In 2026 who are under the influence of Sade Sati?

In 2026 as I update this article the date is July 1, 2026. Today Transit Saturn is on 19 Degrees and 57 minutes (20 degrees approximately) of the arc in Pisces (Meena Rasi).
With reference to the above information we know that all the people who have their Moon in Pisces is right in the middle of SADE SATI. Moon Sign is where your Moon is in the horoscope. If Moon in your horoscope is in Pisces then you are a Pisces Moon sign person or a Meena Rasi person. The term "Transit Saturn" is used to denote where Saturn is in the sky at any point in time. Transit Saturn is on 20th Degree of Pisces on July 1st, 2026.

Answer : Kumbha Rasi (Aquarius). So all Kumbha Rasi people are going through Sade Sati as on July 1st 2026.

Answer : Mesha Rasi (Aries Sign). So all Mesha Rasi people in the world are going through Sade Sati as on July 1st 2026.

First let us use line shading on Pisces to mark the sign where Saturn is. Then we shade the zodiac sign next to it and that happens to be Mesha Rasi. Then we shade the zodiac sign before Pisces and that happens to be Kumbha Rasi (Aquarius).

Saturday night fever should be avoided by all those who are currently going through Sade Sati. Consuming alcohol, drugs and smoking makes things worse instead of relaxing you. If you drink on Saturday, during Sade Sati make sure you do not drive your car after drinking. The remedies given above is general. For tailor made suggestions you must get all the clues from your horoscope.
Those who are all the time angry, always use foul language (f***), swear words, scream at servants and poverty stricken people, oppress the poor, steal, take away what belongs to others, disrespect parents, active atheist, those who destroy places of worship, intoxicated most of the time, greedy and unhelpful, selfish etc may find that Sade Sati is unbearable.
